DMS Mexico Chronicles No7
Incentivizing through the beauties of Mexico: Puebla chapter
As is well known, it is impossible to limit the wonders that Mexico has to offer to just one state or city, especially when it comes to an international incentive visit. For this reason, in addition to having designed the various experiences in Mexico City, DMS Mexico collaborating with Aviatur, decided to complement this incredible incentive trip for the colombian paint company "Pintuco" with the surprises that lie in the spectacular State of Puebla.
"We decided to complement this incredible incentive with the surprises that lie in the spectacular State of Puebla."
Therefore, after our breakfast at the Hilton Reforma Mexico City hotel, we boarded our buses to head to Puebla.
And during our way to the state, we made an express stop at the famous "Pitstop of the Volcanoes” where we were welcomed by an unsual and very clear panoramic view of the local nature with the famous Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes... And of course, we did not miss the opportunity to capture a fantastic and unique group photo!
After the fortunate event, we reboarded our transportation to continue the road trip to the place where we would be able to have our first taste of Puebla's endemic gourmet cuisine: Casa Barroca Restaurant.
Upon arriving at this beautiful restaurant, while we were rejoicing in the flavors of our special poblano menu accompanied by a refreshing and gigantic tamarind margarita, our luggage was being transported to what would be our hotel in the city for the next few days, which was only 3 blocks away from the place.
Once our appetite was satisfied, we encouraged our digestion with a short walk through some streets to the Quinta Real Puebla hotel, which, chronologically speaking, served as an important convent and military barracks during the 18th century, but nowadays is one of the most spectacular and authentic colonial lodgings in all of Puebla.
"We were rejoicing in the flavors of our special poblano menu accompanied by a refreshing and gigantic tamarind margarita,”
"However, being in an ex-convent would not stop us from what identifies every authentic Latino... the party!,”
The welcome we received at this hotel could not have been more comfortable, it was enough to give our name at the reception desk to receive our room key along with a delicious cocktail of the house. And if that wasn't enough, it turns out that our luggage was already in the room we were assigned, it's funny to say, but... they only missed to carry us to our room.
After this, we had a free afternoon to enjoy the surroundings of the hotel located in the historic center of Puebla. This was just to give us some time to acclimatize ourselves to the quiet colonial city, and of course, to stimulate our appetite and spirits for what was our gala dinner
.
Once dusk arrived, the hotel's main courtyard would be our venue for dinner, during which we enjoyed a local gala menu accompanied by the elegant and captivating music of a talented pianist. However, being in an ex-convent would not stop us from what identifies every authentic Latino... the party!
So, after the gala music, to the rhythm of an incredible live show of comedy and musical imitation, we all sang and danced non-stop to various classics of Latin American music for the rest of the night. It is curious to think about the fact that all this was happening inside a venue that dates back to the 18th century, undoubtedly, this was a once in a lifetime experience.
The next day, after breakfast at the hotel, we started very early in the morning with the activity that would allow us to know the hidden surprises in Puebla.
Throughout the day, we walked through the cobblestone streets of Puebla to learn more about its historic sites and characters, its legends, and of course, the various dishes and preparations that make up its famous traditional cuisine.
In addition, we went up to the famous viewpoint of the Fort of Guadalupe, where we had the opportunity to hang our padlock in honor of the promise of eternal love with our loved one (of course, for those who were accompanied by one). Luckily, while we were being transported to the lookout area, we tasted and learned a little about Mezcal Poblano, nothing better to boost the courage required for such a sweet commitment.
Afterwards, as part of the golden closing of this tour, during the rest of our afternoon, we visited the famous market of "El Parian", recognized for bringing together and offering its visitors the great diversity of Puebla's handicrafts in the same place.
Afterwards, we concluded the day delighting ourselves with flavors that made us swear that we were in another world and not precisely in the Historic Center of Puebla. During our dinner at the restaurant "Restauro" we enjoyed the most modern proposal in terms of dishes and flavors from Puebla.
Finally, we returned to our hotel to re-pack our luggage, since sadly, the next day we would be transported back to the Mexico City International Airport to take our flight back to Colombia.
And with all that we had experienced, in the words of more than one of the participants of the group "the sadness does not come from having to return home, the sadness comes from not being able to stay and live in Mexico".
And so, this is how the DMS Mexico team said goodbye to the group formed by members of the Pintuco company and the Aviatur staff with a warm....
See you next time and come back soon!
"The sadness comes from not being able to stay and live in Mexico."
