DMS Mexico Chronicles
Farewell dinner for IHG's Premier Travel Partners: Straight out of a fairy tale
During what was the last night of the IHG Ignite 2023 convention, the DMS Mexico team in collaboration with the organizing committee prepared a night in which the participants certainly felt like they were part of a fantasy story.
"The DMS Mexico team in collaboration with the organizing committee prepared a night in which the participants certainly felt like they were part of a fantasy story".
This adventure began at the Kaluz Museum, a building that dates back to the eighteenth century and today, in addition to serving as an art museum, also lends itself as a venue for events through its colonial courtyard and its iconic terrace. The latter being the place where the reception of the magical adventure that was approaching for IHG's Premier Travel Partners took place.
Upon arrival at the venue, participants were immediately welcomed by the bohemian atmosphere that permeated the place; this thanks to an ambiance made up of the Presidente Intercontinental's top-notch cocktail bar, vintage furniture and one of the most incredible bohemian music trios in Mexico City playing live for the participants. Curiously, the rain was present; however, thanks to the good logistics planned by the DMS Mexico team, this was just an accompaniment to the above mentioned.
However, this was only the beginning of the night, as the Ex-Convent of San Hipolito was ready for the candlelit gala dinner that would take place in this legendary venue. For this, the DMS Mexico team would not forgive themselves for killing the vibe generated from the reception to move people between venues, for which they prepared something that many would think impossible.
First of all, a special number was prepared by musicians dressed as characters from our traditional lottery, who while they played, sang and danced, had the purpose of helping the more than 400 attendees to cross to the place where they would have their dinner. In addition to this, the local authorities collaborated with DMS Mexico to close 2 of the main avenues of Mexico City, Avenida de la Reforma and Hidalgo, for a couple of minutes.
"This was only the beginning of the night, as the Ex-Convent of San Hipolito was ready for the candlelit gala dinner that would take place in this legendary venue".
"Upon arriving at the Ex-Convent of San Hipolito, among more than 400 candles, a halo of blue light that enveloped the entire venue and a choir of 12 voices singing live...".
But, that was not the top of the surprises of the day, since, upon arriving at the Ex-Convent of San Hipolito, among more than 400 candles, a halo of blue light that enveloped the entire venue and a choir of 12 voices singing live... Some participants swore they were arriving to paradise itself!
In addition, the corridors of the venue were adorned with some very peculiar luxury guests in their corners, living statues that only revealed their secret of life to those who approached curious to observe them; because curiously some participants did not realize that those statues had life until it was their time to retire.
Finally, such a folkloric night could not have a more ad hoc end than with a traditional group of mariachis, who came out of their hiding place to surprise the participants with their hits and mark the end of the magical night.
And so, along with the previous day's Day of the Dead themed event, more than one participant mentioned that undoubtedly they could assure that those were 2 of the best events they have attended worldwide in their career; and in some other cases they expressed their sadness of not being able to extend their stay in the country to continue living the wonders that it holds, and just like that both the DMS Mexico and IHG teams were able to finally have the luxury of celebrating the success generated by the explosive combination of the best DMC in the country with the revolutionary vision of one of the most incredible teams of planners on the planet.
